Saulspoort, 05 June 2022 – WRSA Conservation Kids celebrated World Environment Day at the Sedibelo Secondary School in Lerome Village. The learners participated in Rhino horn notching and a dehorning activity in Pilanesberg National Park.
The objective of WRSA Conservation Kids is to provide an Environmental Education to youngsters, which we achieve by exposing learners to the beauty of the environment with the hope that we contribute to building a society that understands and appreciates the environment to ensure the sustainable use of this natural resource so that future generations can continue to benefit from it.
We would like to thank the park management represented by Mr Robert Gaolaolwe and Mr Steve Dell for allowing us to provide such an experience to the learners and providing us with free entrance to the park.
We would also like to thank Ms Perry Dell of Pilanesberg Wildlife Trust for facilitating the whole process of arranging for the vet and the helicopter.
This experience would not have been possible without the financial support received from Sun City represented by Mr Lwazi Mswelanto and we thank the organization for covering the costs for the helicopter, vet, and the full buffet breakfast that the learners enjoyed at Sun City.
Our gratitude also goes to Mankwe Game Trackers represented by Ms Phumeza Ndjock, for their sponsorship of the 25-seater game drive vehicle.
WRSA Conservation Kids is a non-profit organization and are only able to do what we do because of the support we receive from sponsors. We hope our efforts will encourage more organizations to open their doors for us.
