08 October 2022 – The winner of the 2022 Wildlife Ranching South Africa Game Breeder of the Year Award was announced at the WRSA-Mitsubishi Gala Dinner & Award Celebration by Mr. Pieter Ernst jr.
Winner: Barry Badenhorst of Knapdaar Boerdery
“This award is given to the breeder who is considered a role model in the industry with specific reference to breeding. The nominee must have a successful and self-supporting farming enterprise, is actively involved with research, has impeccable record keeping, implements excellent herd and veld management, strives to continually improve breeding success, and provides the market with high quality animals.
Animals can be sold on different platforms, out of hand, online and on national auctions.
A higher weight is given to breeders with proven results over many years as well as breeders improving the quality of a diversity of species on their ranch.”
