06 February 2024 – The Independent Development Corporation has launched the Green Tourism Incentive Programme (GTIP) to encourage privately-owned tourism businesses to adopt green tourism practices to reduce their enregy and water consumption and costs.
The GTIP aims to provide financial assistance to small and micro tourism enterprises to install solutions for the sustainable management and usage of electricity and water.
The programme offers grant funding on a sliding scale from between 50 – 90% of the total cost of the approved energy and water efficiency solutions up to a capped amount of R1 million.
