WRSA remains committed to ensuring that our members receive the necessary support when navigating the permitting process. We have received several reports that some members have encountered challenges, including delays, unexpected amendments to permitting requirements, and arbitrary or inconsistent decision-making by various Nature Conservation departments. These challenges have affected aspects such as standing permit renewals, captive breeding permits, export permits, certificates of adequate enclosure or P3 compliance, abnormal approval times and other regulatory approvals.
To address these concerns effectively, we are compiling a comprehensive report to engage with both national and provincial authorities. If you have experienced any permitting challenges, we encourage you to share them with us so that we can advocate on your behalf in working towards practical solutions.
We also wish to highlight and acknowledge departments that have demonstrated efficiency and excellent service. If you have encountered nature conservation officers or departments that have been particularly helpful, please let us know so that we can recognize them for their service to the industry.
Please send all permitting compliance matters, whether challenges or positive experiences, to the WRSA Offices. Your input is invaluable in strengthening our collective voice and ensuring a more streamlined and effective permitting system.
