The overwhelmingly successful 2016 WRSA Conference, Exhibition and 10th Anniversary Gala Dinner took place at Sun City recently.
The conference’s 700 delegate contingent included the first Premier of Mpumalanga, Dr Matthews Phosa and the former Springbok fly half, Hennie Le Roux, who joined the top echelon of the Southern African wildlife industry, as well as a healthy turnout of notable international visitors, at the two day conference.
Sports Commentator and TV Presenter Johnny Koen MC’d the glittering 1200 guest WRSA 10th Anniversary Gala Dinner celebration, at which the Jonny Cooper Orchestra; South Africa’s foremost big brass band; provided their exceptional swing music, as well as doing so at the opening evening’s country music party, which featured not only The (foot stomping) Campbells, but also an enthralling synchronised fireworks, laser and music show, at the host venue’s landmark Valley of the Waves facility.
The WRSA Exhibition, which constituted a most interesting and valuable product, personality and establishment introduction and networking opportunity to all the attendees, had a personal touch added to this event, by way of many of the guests and exhibitors being introduced and interviewed by Johnny.
WRSA Marketing Director, Mr Bernard Groenewald has extremely good reason to be delighted with their event: “The conference opened vital conversations on wildlife ranching and the role it plays in the agricultural, conservation and economic sectors of South Africa at present”, whilst one the wildlife industry leaders, Mr Pelham Jones from PROA (Private Rhino Owners Organization), was understandably extremely upbeat in his related sentiments: “The conference content was of an exceptional standard, the prior arrangements and logistics during the conference excellent and the Gala Dinner outstanding! I was very proud to see how the game industry was presented by WRSA to our international guests and delegates who certainly see us as a dynamic and highly professional association.”
